There had been a section of public security within the Graduate School of Police Administration and many graduates of this section have been assigned to work for the national security intelligence and law enforcement agencies. The Graduate School of Public Security was founded in 2000 with the purpose of enhancing the quality of national security studies and police cadre cultivation. Looking into the future, this graduate school will continue to strengthen the basic academic teaching in the undergraduate program and promote the national security and intelligence studies in the graduate program. More over, this department and graduate school as well will broaden the scope of academic research and provide government its findings for the reference.

I. Aims of Education
To train police cadres to be able to perform the tasks of securing national security and maintaining social order through the teaching on security policy analysis, intelligence collection and correlation, security protection work, and other major police disciplines.

II. Career and Advanced Study of Students after Graduation
1.Job Opportunity
All students graduating from our department have to take the National Civil Service Exam for Police Officer, and will be assigned as police officer, after passing the exam, by National Police Administration to join the policing and to maintain social order and security. After serving the mandatory service years（6 years for university, 3 years for graduate school）, alumni can choose to take all kinds of exams to be judiciary, diplomats, intelligence officers, etc.
2.Further Study
Students graduating from university can enter the graduate school for further study or to study in other universities listed below: (1)graduate school of mainland China study; (2)graduate school of strategy study; (3)graduate school of national development; (4)graduate school of politics; (5)graduate school of public administration; (6)graduate school of law, etc.
3.Study Abroad
Student can apply to study abroad on his own or attend the exams held by National Police Administration to get the scholarship to study the related subject, including law, criminal justice, regional study, national security, etc.
III.Future Prospects

1.To continue annual recruitment of graduate school students through entrance examination.
2.To hold academic seminars, round table meetings and workshops to promote the exchange of academic research.
3.To publish Security Journal for the purpose of encouraging academic study.
4.To conduct research programs sponsored by the National Science Council.
Mid/Long-Term Development Plan
1.To promote exchanges and cooperation with national security intelligence and law enforcement agencies, government, other universities and research centers.
2.To sponsor national and international conferences, to publish academic books, to conduct joint research projects with off-campus counterparts.
3.To facilitate international scholarly exchange, faculty exchange and joint research program.
4.To encourage the combination of theoretical research and field operations to enrich the content of teaching and to provide advice to related agencies.
