The Central Police University (CPU) held the handover ceremony of the president on January 15 morning. Under the supervision of Minister Hsu Kuo-yung, Chen Che-wen, the incoming president, who is also the former commissioner of the New Taipei City Police Department, takes over the significant tasks of training national security talents.
At the handover ceremony, Minister Hsu Kuo-yung first expressed his affirmation and gratitude to the outgoing president, Li Wen-ming, and mentioned that Chen Che-wen, the incoming president, has rich and complete experience in police administration. He had served as the Commissioner of New Taipei City Police Department since 2019. So far, he has achieved various tasks successfully in actively stabilizing local public security, strengthening crime prevention and traffic law enforcement, protecting women and children's safety, and improving the environment of the police department and police service, which has been highly praised by senior officials at all ranks.
The minister pointed out that it is a great responsibility for Central Police University to cultivate excellent public security talents for the country. After the incoming president Chen takes office, the minister expects that CPU and National Police Agency would work more closely to strengthen the social safety net, ensure social security, enhance the energy of scientific and technological investigation and prevention, and improve public security in seeking greater welfare for the people.
According to the Ministry of the interior, Chen graduated from Central Police College ( Now - Central Police University ) in the 45th term and a master's degree in the Graduate School of Law of Soochow University. He served as the Commander of Criminal Investigation Division of Taipei City Police Department, the Chief Secretary of Criminal Investigation Bureau of National Police Agency, the Director-general of Chiayi City Police Bureau, the Deputy Commissioner of Criminal Investigation Bureau of National Police Agency, the General Commander of the Seventh Special Police Corps of National Policy Agency, the Assistant Director-general of National Police Agency, the Chief of Police of Aviation Police Bureau of National Police Agency, and the Commissioner of New Taipei City Police Department. He has rich and complete experience in police administration.
